Step 1.
Pat the swordfish steaks dry with paper towel.
Step 2.
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a high heat.
Step 3.
Season both sides of the fish with salt and pepper.
Step 4.
Add the olive oil to the frying pan.
Step 5.
Place the swordfish steaks in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side.
Step 6.
Using a slotted turner, flip the fish on the other side and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until the flesh is starting to flake on the outside and is just cooked through inside.
How do you know when swordfish is cooked?
Swordfish can be cooked medium like a steak. The outside should be flakey and the inside can be eaten just cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 130-135 degrees for medium.
Step 7.
Remove fish from the pan, and allow to rest for a few minutes.
Step 8.
Serve swordfish steaks with a wedge of lemon.
